PUNE: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced the examination schedule for the SSC and HSC for the academic year 2014.
The SSC exam will start on March 3, while HSC exam will begin on February 20. “This time, we have given a gap of three to four days between two examinations to give adequate time for preparation,” MSBSHSE Chairman Sarjerao Jadhav told reporters.
The board had given time for parents to send suggestions soon after the announcement of the board exam results. This is a practice which has been followed over the past two years.
“The students complain that they did not have enough time to prepare for papers like chemistry. Hence this time we have increased the preparation time for such papers,” added Jadhav.
The HSC physics paper will be held on February 25, while mathematics and chemistry will be held on on March 1 and 6, respectively.
The time table is available the board's website www.msbshse.ac.in .
Meanwhile the Education Department has also decided to do away with less popular courses in several schools at SSC level including a few foreign languages. “Our focus will be more on the core subjects and not on the less popular ones like Japanese,” said State Additional Chief Secretary JS Saharia.
